The Foundation will award 5 "Spring" grants in the first half of each year and 5 "Fall" grants in the second half of each year – each at €1500, to individuals who seek to develop themselves by going off the beaten track, contributing to local community development and international experiences.

Who can apply?

• You must be able to prove citizenship in one of the following countries: Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, The Netherlands, Norway, Sweden or Poland
• You must be between 18 and 35 years of age at the date of travel abroad
• Be prepared to provide documentation of your nationality, occupational status and affiliation with volunteer or educational program you are or intend to visit abroad
• You have not received a KILROY Foundation Grant before
• The activity which you will use the grant towards cannot end before the grant is awarded
• Applications received after your experience abroad will not be accepted
• Employees of the KILROY Group are not eligible to apply

Erik Børresen Stiftelse

Legater, stiftelser og fond

Erik var skipsreder, stortingsmann og legatstifter fra Drammen. Etter deltakelse i forsvaret i 1814, bygget han seg opp som en av Norges største skipsredere. Og i perioden 1826 - 1832 satt han på Stortinget, med unntak av året 1828. Da han var 62 år gammle testamenterte han 150 000 specidaler til opprettelsen av Erik Børresen Stiftelse. Formålet skulle være oppfostring og forsørgelse av foreldreløse og fattige barn i Drammen. Stiftelsen har opp igjennom årene driftet barnehjem, skole og feriehjem i Kragerø. Idag leier stiftelsen ut lokalene til Børresen Skole, og Buskerud barne- og familiesenter i Wildhagens vei 17. Kilde: Drammen Byleksikon
